We spent a long weekend visiting friends and exploring museums. We stayed with friends who are like family to us. They fed us wonderfully delicious meals and put out fun, creative toys for the girls and anticipated all the things we would need. We got time to chat with them in the evenings, and they got time to play with our girls. Fun was had by all.
As if that wasn’t enough, we went to the N.C. Museum of Natural Sciences on Saturday afternoon and again on Monday morning. We saw the Megalodon shark exhibit that we’d been looking forward too, and the girls spent lots of time admiring the whale skeletons that hang above the coastal region exhibit.
On Sunday, we met some more friends at the Museum of Life and Science in Durham. The beautiful weather was perfect for all the outdoor exhibits. We had a train ride, saw life-sized dinosaur models, dug for fossils, toured the butterfly house, saw farm animals, and more. And the girls were in heaven mothering our friend’s 16mo daughter.

Looks like a really wonderful weekend!
Yay for museums! It’s been too long since we hit our Museum of Science and Industry (Chicago). I love that you are starting your girls out right!
Did you get a chance to go to Marbles in downtown Raleigh? My 3 y.o. loves it, especially their new exhibit about money (but no worries – it’s totally interactive and appropriate even for the youngest museum-goers).
