M and her dad are almost done with Cryptid Hunters by Roland Smith, a book I discovered by reading a review of the sequel, Tentacles, at Charlotte’s Library. I read it first and then they took it over and we all love it.
M and I just finished Clover Twig and the Magical Cottage by Kaye Umansky, a book I hope to write more about later. We’ve just started The Little White Horse by Elizabeth Goudge, a book I was reminded of when I saw it on the Top 100 Children’s Chapter Books.
Picture book favorites this week include: Night Rabbits by Monica Wellington, Cha Cha Chimps by Julia Durango, Sing, Sophie! by Dayle Ann Dodds, Owl Babies by Martin Waddell, It’s Mine by Leo Lionni, and Hen Hears Gossip by Megan MacDonald, which we finally got our own copy of much to C’s delight.

Thanks for the recommendations…I hadn’t heard of some of these, and I know a Sophie who’d love “Sing, Sophie!”
