We love animal books and after a recent viewing of Madagascar, we’ve had a renewed interest in African wildlife. When I saw This Place is Wild: East Africa by Vicki Cobb on the shelf at the library, I suspected it would be a hit.
We refreshed some of our knowledge and learned many new facts about East African animals such as hippopatmuses, giraffes, zebras, lions, wildebeests and numerous others. The book also contains information about why many of these animals are endangered and what is being done to save them. M wishes we could go on a safari but for now we’ll have to make do with another trip to the N.C. Zoo.
We’re looking forward to checking out other books in Vicki Cobb’s Imagine Living Here series.
