We had a wonderful Easter celebration and a great week. Easter Sunday afternoon, we drove to my parents house and stayed until yesterday. I’ll post more about the adventures we had when I get a chance to up load my pictures. Today we settled back in which meant unpacking, cleaning, making room for my old play kitchen which I brought back for the girls, a Music Together class, and a trip to the library.
Here’s what we picked up:
A Penguin Story – the latest by a favorite author of ours, Antoinette Portis. I read about this one my Horn Book e-mail and was thrilled to find it at our library. The Story: a penguin named Edna longs to see something that isn’t black, white, or blue like the sea
Noisy Nora – We’re on a Rosemary Wells kick. This one is a funny rhyming story about a middle child who feels left out
Bunny Money – a Max and Ruby book
Roll Over Rover by Karen Beaumont – recommended by a friend we ran into
Minerva Louise and the Colorful Eggs – Janet Morgan Stoeke, we love all the Minerva Louise books
Dr. Meow’s Big Emergency by Sam Lloyd
M is on another dinosaur kick and we’re going to be reading about the beach and the ocean before heading to the beach at the end of May.
When Fish Got Feet, Sharks Got Teeth, and Bugs Began to Swarm by Hannah Bonner
Dinosaurs All Around by Caroline Arnold
Prehistoric Actual Size by Steve Jenkins
My Favorite Dinosaurs by John Sibbick
Seashores (A Golden Guide) by Herbert Zim and Lester Ingle
One Small Square: Seashore by Donald M. Silver (we love this series)
One Small Place by the Sea by Barbara Brenner
Sea Turtles by Gail Gibbons
Shells (Eyewitness Explores) by Jennifer Coldrey
Ramona Forever by Beverly Cleary
Theodosia and the Serpents of Chaos by R. L. Lafevers – I read about this one Jen Robinson’s blog. I thought it sounded fabulous but I wasn’t sure M was ready for it. She saw the cover at the library, asked about it, and said it sounded great so we’ll see what she thinks.
