My renewed interest in sewing has continued. I used the leftovers fabric from my new bag to make M a dress for her American Girl Samantha, two No-Cash Wallets from Bend the Rules Sewing (I plan to fill them with treat coupons and give them to the girls when we head to the beach at the end of May), and napkins for a set of mismatched napkins (also a Bend the Rules Sewing idea).
A few weeks ago, I did a bonnet sewing project with the American Girls club at M’s school. We cut out the fabric and got everything pinned and ready to sew. Then the kids realized how tedious sewing them by hand can be, a good lesson in how easy we have it with sewing machines and ready-made goods.
