The last time we went to A.C. Moore, I noticed they had storebrand paints and supplies that all cost $5 each. I picked up a package of their tube watercolors since we’ve been frustrated at how quickly the paints in our Crayola trays get hopelessly mixed up (especially when painting with 2-year-old C) and how quickly we use them up.
I’m not sure how they would compare to more expensive watercolor options, but they worked well for our purposes. While C was at PMO this week, M and I experimented with mixing colors and got used to the feel of the paint. I can’t wait to do more with them. The store brand watercolor paper was not as satisfying. It buckled when we sprayed it before painting. I’ll get something else next time.
