Jill of the Well-Read Child has started a new weekly series about what everyone is reading with the children in their life. I’m excited because I love booklists and peeking into other people’s reading lives. Jill will round up the posts at her blog every Thursday and anyone who reads with kids can participate by making posting during the week about what they are reading to their kids, their grandkids, their students, their librarian patrons, etc. More info is here.
This week M is reading Cam Jansen and the Substitute Mystery to me. Her dad is reading Theodosia and the Staff of Osiris by R. L. LaFevers to her. I just finished reading Annie’s Adventures (book one of the Sisters Eight series) to her and now we’re reading one of my personal favorites, The Penderwicks. We’ve also enjoyed The Seaside Switch by Kathleen Kudlinski and The Dinosaurs of Waterhouse Hawkins by Barbara Kerley.
C is frequently requesting Giddy Up! Let’s Ride! by Flora McDonald, Ollie and the other gosling books by Olivier Dunrea, Tille Lays an Egg by Terry Golson, and Freight Train by Donald Crews.
