It’s time for week two of the “What My Children Are Reading” meme at the Well-Read Child. So here’s our reading update for this week:
M is reading Young Cam Jansen and the Double Beach Mystery to me. We’re still in the midst of Theodosia and the Staff of Osiris by R.L. LaFevers. We finished The Penderwicks by Jeanne Birdsall. M loved it, and I’ve seen her incorporating the story into her play in several ways. I’m re-reading the Pet Fairies series (a subset of the Rainbow Fairies books by Daisy Meadows) to her. They’re not my favorite books but she loves them and she’s also starting to read parts of them on her own. Our picture book reading has been mostly beach focused: A Day in the Salt Marsh, One Small Square: Seashore, and One Tiny Turtle.
C’s favorites this week include Mama Cat Has Three Kittens by Denise Fleming, Owl Babies by Martin Waddell, Freight Train by Donald Crews, Ollie and Ollie the Stomper by Olivier Durea, Knuffle Bunny and Knuffle Bunny Too by Mo Willems, and When Will It Be Spring? by Catherine Walters.
The round-up of this week’s posts in here.
