M and her dad are several chapters into Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets. He’s reading a chapter at a time every other night, making her savor it. She is not keen on savoring; she’d rather devour. She’s broken into tears twice over not getting to hear more. That’s a powerful story!
M and I finished up a re-read of all the books about American Girl, Samantha. Now we’re reading Up and Down the Scratchy Mountains by Laurel Snyder and M is asking for it whenever we have a few minutes during the day. I’m really enjoying the story too and resisting the urge to read ahead.
C has been asking for Knuffle Bunny and Knuffle Bunny Too a lot this week. Donald Crew’s Freight Train has also come back into heavy rotation as has I’m the Biggest Thing in the Ocean. She’s also repeatedly requested Sammy the Seal, Guess What is Growing Inside This Egg, and an old Golden Book of mine, Tommy Goes to the Doctor which was a favorite of M’s at the same age.
I have the privilege of doing the round up on October 1. Jill at The Well-Read Child is rounding up this week’s What Your Children Are Reading posts.
