We had more snow this weekend than we’ve had in many many years. In fact, no one in our family besides me has ever played in snow this deep. The official record for our area of town is 17 in. The girls have been out sledding and throwing snow balls and playing with sand toys in the snow several times a day. M is in heaven. C enjoys herself for a short time but she declared it “too deep and too cold”.
We lost power for a little over 24 hours but we made the best of it and we’ll have lots of fond memories of things like making an outside refrigerator with our recycling bins and cuddling on the couch while Brent read Harry Potter by candlelight. Being snowed in without tv or internet or the ability to charge cell phones gave us some extra family time that was delightful though we all rejoiced when the lights came back on.
