We’ve enjoyed several books in the One Small Square series by Donald M. Silver. We’ve currently got One Small Square: Seashore in our bin of beach books. These books have wonderful pictures, activities, and explorations of one square yard of a given habitat.
Seashore describes one small square of sandy shore and one of rocky shore at varying levels of depth. Each pages describes an activity to do while exploring the seashore like collecting shells, looking for animal tracks in the sand, or chccking out life in a tide pool with a magnifiying glass. The last pages are a field guide to shells, plants, fish, birds, and other small animals you might find at the seashore.
The Non-Fiction Monday Round Up is at BookScoops.

Where was this book when we used to go camping by the beach when the kids were little? What a great idea for a picture book!
